Frequently Asked Questions
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Sometimes when trauma happens, it can get locked in our brains. EMDR seems to stimulate what happens during REM sleep to allow our brains to process, and store memories without them causing disturbances. We will evaluate together if EMDR therapy is the right therapy
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes, I offer four sliding scale spots in my caseload at all times. Sliding scale clients are re-evaluated every four months to make sure the agreed upon fee is still appropriate. I offer a waitlist for clients who need a sliding scale rate, when my four spots are filled.
How long does each therapy session take?
Each session lasts 45-50 minutes. At times, we may schedule a two hour session or an hour and a half session. My session fees are as follows;
Intake $140
50 minute sessions $130
90 minute sessions, $195
Two hour sessions, $260
Is my confidentiality protected under supervision?
I am currently pursuing my clinical licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), the license required for independent practice in the state of Kansas. I am required to receive regular post-graduate supervision of my clinical services. We meet biweekly to discuss my cases and how I can improve my skillset. I work diligently to consult on cases which I may need assistance to best serve my clients. This is a strictly confidential relationship and all identifying client information is kept private.
