All About Therapy
Personalized Attention for the Artist in mind
Perhaps you're down or anxious (big audition coming up?)- maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, maybe you feel that you aren't living the career you were meant to lead or are feeling 'stuck' because of a traumatic event in your life. Through evidenced based treatment, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I utilize the entire mind, body and spirit to promote lasting change. I primarily use Somatic Experiencing and EMDR therapies to help empower my clients to reconnect to their bodies, and live a more fulfilling life.

About Me
Welcome! My name is Katelyn Hersch, I have a BFA in Musical Theatre from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I am practicing in person and telehealth counseling in Overland Park, at Thalia Therapy & Wellness Center.
My goal is to create a space where individuals, and creatives are mindfully catered too. I primarily work with clients who have an entertainment background, have varying levels of trauma in their history, and are experiencing career-identity struggles.
I utilize EMDR, person centered, and Somatic Experiencing evidenced based treatment modalities in my practice. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling, and incorporating the entire mind, body and spirit to promote lasting healing. I consider myself to be a 'forever learner' and am avid about adding new helpful and scientific techniques to my practice.
I am a wife, mom, singer, world traveler, sister, daughter and friend. When I am not counseling, I enjoy taking hikes with our dog, playing board games with friends, and curling up with a thriller novel. I believe there are many ways towards finding healing, and I never take for granted the vulnerability and strength that clients share with me.
